Search Sound FX Libraries

Hi All,

 

I'm working in Audition on my first project. I've had an overall positive experience, but I am surprised to discover that the media browser does not have a search function. I have multiple SFX libraries with 50+ GB of sounds. In Pro Tools, it's very easy for me to search all of these libraries at the same time using keywords. I noticed there have been people asking for this functionality for some time. Has Adobe made any indication they will be adding this feature? This is a core step in the sound design process and feels like a major oversight or weakness in the software. For now I am searching in Bridge, but it is slowing down the entire process.

Scrubbing without pitch change?

Is there still not any way to to scrub the timeline without changing the pitch and getting Alvin and the chipmunks? The old Final Cut had this. I really need this feature. I edit voice all the time and need to be able to understand what's going on while listening in a faster mode. Heck you can even listen to a podcast in a faster mode. Why does a full audio edit program that I'm paying for not have a simple feature like this?

Can't Resolve "Error 16 creating file..." Please Help

Hi,

 

I renamed a parent folder on my hard drive under which I have a multitrack and associated files. Since doing that, when I go to save the session, I get asked if I want to copy media files that are located outside of the Session folder to it. I hit Yes then I get "Error 16 creating file (file path) The destination may be full or no longer available"
I have renamed the parent folder back to the name it had before the Error commenced but to no avail. I can't resolve "Error 16 creating file".

 

Any help is appreciated!

5.5 student version

I had to uninstall  Adobe Creative suite 5.5 Production Premium Student and Teacher Editions and then reinstall them again. But now I'm having problems.

When I put in the serial number it says the "This serial number is not valid for this product"

I tried to download it to my old computer as well and it seemed to work there without a problem (i uninstalled it again from the old computer) but soon as i try to get it on my newer laptop it says "This serial number is not valid for this product"

Why this could be and how to fix it?

I need my programmes back ASAP and cant really afford to upgrade to Creative Cloud.

Hello,

I am using Audition to generate different frequency sine waves. Is the a free or low cost VST plugin for Audition that produces better sound quality or are there are tweaks I can make in Audition to increase the quality?

Rms equalization in Audition

We would like to normalize some *.wav file to a specific average rms level.  What set of functions/steps best accomplishes this?  The normalize function does not seem to be based on rms of the file.   Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Adobe Audition CS6 Not Opening

I recently got a new laptop and have just installed my three year-old version of CS6 to it. When I attempted to open the program, it comes back saying that it's stopped working and I can only close it. This has happened more than once.

 

Any help?

Trying to export multitrack session to MP3 - selected filter cannot save all files

Hello - for some reason, I cannot export a multitrack session to MP3. I've done it in the past (different machine), so I know this is something specific to either my settings or my laptop, but I cannot figure it out.

 

The message I receive is, "The currently selected filter cannot save all files in the needed format".

 

There is nothing unique or different about the source MP3 files I'm using.

 

For the moment, I have been exporting to .flac and then converting to MP3 using Freemake, but it'd be great to skip this step.

 

Any thoughts?

 

Laptop is running Windows 10.

can't type in audition cc

This started out as, I couldn't use the delete key in audition.  It has progressed to not being able to type anything in any dialog box in audition nor being able to use any keyboard hotkey.  The mouse functions normally.  I can otherwise open, close, and use the program normally.  No other program has this problem or any other problem with the keyboard.  I tried a different keyboard, with the same result.  I tried reinstalling audition.  I have searched the web without avail.  Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening, or what a fix or workaround might be?

Adobe Audition: No Supported Audio Device?

So I recently bought a new laptop. It has Windows 7, 64-bit installed on it. All my programs installed just fine, except Adobe Audition 3. I install the program, and the first time I open it, it opens just fine. I can even open an audio file it. Then, I close it and the next time I try to open it, it states:

 

"Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device".

 

I tried installing the 3.0.1 patch; nothing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling; nothing. I've been running it in Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP modes; nothing! This is driving me crazy!

 

I have a Realtek High Definition Audio sound card installed and enabled, driver version 6.0.1.6098.

 

I don't know what to do anymore, there must be some fix to this. It's driving me crazy and I'm sad because I bought this program when I still had Windows Vista thinking I could use it on my next computer.

How to change frequency of tracks in multitrack session?

I created a multtrack session with 2 tracks. How can I change the frequency of them? I mean each track has a differrent frequency and I'm using Audition CS6.

Can't quit Audition CC; can't find or cancel "jobs"

When I try to quit Audition CC on the Mac (Mountain Lion), I get "One or more files are currently processing jobs. Please cancel these jobs or wait for them to finish." I have waited over a week! How do I figure out what "jobs" are processing, and then how do I quit them?

 

I have several files open in the waveform media browser. I have successfully closed several files, but now if I try to close any of the remaining files, I get the above message.

 

I'm stumped!

Can no longer save audio as mp3 files in Audition

I've been saving audio tracks as mp3 files (320 kbps) successfully in Audition for ages, yet suddenly, mid-session, they will only save as files with a .4 extension, even after restarting the computer. These .4 files can't be opened by any other application, and don't appear in the 'Add' listing when I want to burn them to CD. I'm sure the 'Save as type' box used to only list .mp3 extension, now it comes up with mp3PRO (FhG) (*.4,*.mp3). What has suddenly gone wrong?

Audition mix down 10 frames shorter than selection

Dear Adobe community.

 

I have an issue using Audition. I am working on a soundtrack for a video I made.

The video is 6min03sec10frames

It is also in the timeline of my session.

I gave an in and outpoint in the timeline where in the 'selection/view' window it is clearly marked as 00:06:03:10

So my guess is that if I do export: multitrack mixdown: Time selection this is what it says it should do.

But the resulting file is always 10 frames shorter in the beginning, no matter how many tracks are on mute or not.

And what's weird is that it's the first 10 frames that are missing in audio.

So when i sync the exported mixdown with the movie again, moving it to sync the last frame works...

I solved it manually by moving all my tracks (including the movie) ten frames in the audition timeline.

Then exporting the time selection (which is now 00:06:03:19) results in a file that is the exact length of the original movie (6min03sec10frames).

So again ten frames short but perfectly sync with the movie.

I have no clue why this happens!!!

Feedback start 40 minutes into recording - Master Clock?

Hi Everyone,

I am pretty new to the world of multi mic recording and have experienced something strange in my first endeavor.

 

First the setup:

Behringer Xenyx X1204USB (Records Firewire - USB)

Channel 1: Electro Voice RE20

Channel 2: Blue Spark

Channel 3: Nuemann TLM 102

Macbook Pro

 

We recorded for about an hour or so with no problems, everything sounded good in the headphones while recording and etc.

I played it back listening all the way through and at about the 40 min mark my audio skipped and then the feedback started.

 

I went through everything recording tests and etc. The feedback persisted only in playback.

Finally i got to my audio hardware settings.

The Master clock had been set to Out: USB Audio Codec

After I switched it to IN, the issue stopped.

Can anyone tell me, is it possible that this switched on its own mid recording? Any ideas on what could have caused this feedback to start suddenly in the middle of our recording?

How to convert/repurpose an ".amio" file for Windows to ".bundle" file for OSX?

We use Wide Orbit for radio.  There is a plugin (for windows) that allows Audition to export to the automation with metadata such title, artist, year, etc and have it show up in Wide Orbit.  That part is the (relatively) easy part.  It's done through a new schema in Audition that references an XML file.

 

The hard part is the plugin, which is an .amio file in Windows world.  The same files in OSX world are called .bundle files.  They are within the package contents if the app, in plugins/amio.

 

I'm trying to figure out how to make the amio plugins work in the OSX world.

 

Any thoughts?

Several years ago... I believe it was October of 2010... I bought and downloaded Adobe Audition. At this point, I don't remember which version it was, only that it was the most current at the time.  But the computer onto which I downloaded it has been out of my reach for over a year; it's with a bunch of my other possessions, in a storage unit many miles from here.  Now, I'd like to download it onto my laptop, so I can still use it.  But because the original is back in the storage unit, I have no product codes or anything else I would need to identify myself as the proper owner.  So... how might I go about downloading this onto my laptop without having to pay for it all over again?  I would pay again, but at this point, it's not something I can afford, and I sure don't want to have to resort to Audacity.....

Export with clip names from a track

Export with clip names from a track

 

Is it possible to export multiple clips at once that have been renamed in the track?

seems doable because i can name each clip, why would i not be able to export each clip from one track, or even multiple renamed clips on multiple tracks at once, retaining that rename.
